In addition to the main activity of managing the Special Nature Reserve “Titelski Breg”, the Institutions for conservation of nature “Titelski Breg” also deals with the presentation of the natural, cultural and tourist potential of the Titel municipality. Visitors can come to the premises of the Institution and through an interactive model learn about natural and cultural treasure of SNR “Titelski breg”.
Titelski breg is a unique natural phenomenon, rich in loess forms, flora and fauna, considered by many scientists to be the most interesting loess hillock in Central Europe. The Surduks, the hanging valleys, the loess scabs and the pyramids have been keeping the secret of the formation of the hill for 600.000 years already. Whether because of geological and geomorphological peculiarities, whether because of numerous archeological sites or legends and local myths, Titelski breg is also called the Testimony Hill. The spaces as a whole is dominated by steppes of a relict character. As an important botanical area, Titelski breg is an IPA (Important Plant Areas) area of Central and Eastern Europe. Due to its undoubted ornithological values, Titelski breg has been included in the list of sites of international importance for the bird fauna as the IBA area (Important Bird Areas).
The feeding site (“vulture restaurant”) for White-tailed Eagles and other birds of prey is established within Titelski breg Special Natural Reserve. A well equipped hide for wildlife photographers, prepared for a full day stay, offers attractive views of birds on feeding site.
