Svetosavska 19, Bačka Topola
The building located at Szent Száva utca 19 could have been built in 1843 based on the year engraved in the master beam. It is certainly one of the last examples of the settlement’s traditional architecture. During its existence of a century and a half, it has undergone minor reconstructions, but its appearance and function have not changed fundamentally. A three-part, typically lowland-type residential building. Its furnishings are from the XIX-XX. was made at the turn of the century. Some of the ethnographic objects placed in the landscape house are permanent, while others come from temporary donations.
In its current state, painted with the dominant white and blue colors, it stands out a bit from the other old houses in Topola. The country house was handed over to its intended purpose in 1986, and has been a prominent monument of the city ever since. In recent years, we have tried to take advantage of the opportunities inherent in the Tájház, to think further, to fill the space with colorful programs, and at the same time to make investments aimed at renovation for the maintenance and renovation of buildings that are in worse condition every day. The Tájház is open to visitors from spring to autumn, and group visits are possible every day of the year after prior consultation.
