88 Maršala Tita St., Vrbas
The Town Museum carries out the activity of protection of cultural goods from the area of the municipality of Vrbas, divided into 4 collections: archeological, historical, ethnological and art history. The most important objects dating from the Neolithic period to the Second World War are displayed at the permanent exhibition entitled “Vrbas – Man and Nature, Harmony of Coexistence”. The museum also has two more permanent exhibitions: “Joszef Pechan – at the turn of the century” and “Ethno Corner”.
The Town museum is housed in a mixed-use building built around 1900. It was once owned by Carl Schuch, a pharmacist and longtime commander of the Voluntary Fire Brigade of Novi Vrbas. Schuch bought the first pharmacy opened in Vrbas – Kod Svete Trojice, in 1885. As a homage to the past, a part of the old pharmacy of Mileta Leskovac has been exhibited at the museum, presenting pharmacy furniture, utensils and tools from the beginning of the 20th century.
