Stevana Sremca bb, Kikinda
Terra Museum was opened in December 2017 in the old manege building, an object of military architecture built at the end of the 19th century in Kikinda. The main function of the Terra Museum is to permanently present the sculptures created during the decades-long existence of the International Terracotta of Large-Scale Sculpture Symposium “Terra”
The museum building consists of two interconnected units – the annex and the main object. A complete, well-organized, architecturally attractive and compact space of less than 2100 square meters, with good natural light and adequate artificial lighting, has been transformed into an ideal museum space that is fully adapted to the specifics of terracotta sculptures, especially due to the fact that in the exhibition of the “Terra” Museum sculptures of monumental formats dominate. The permanent exhibition represents the world’s largest collection of contemporary sculptures in terracotta and includes around three hundred sculptures. In addition to the permanent exhibition, there is another exhibition space within the museum, a Museum Salon, which aims to represent the contemporary art scene of the Republic of Serbia and the region.
