The Museum is devoted to the protection, interpretation, and promotion of the multicultural heritage of BačkaPalanka from prehistoric times to the present day. Through paleontological, archaeological, numismatic, and artistic materials, our mission is to preserve, protect, collect and improve knowledge, and interpret historical and contemporary cultures, serving as a source of knowledge and an active learning center. The objects of the permanent exhibition (5,530 items), which chronologically present the past of the BačkaPalanka municipality, are exhibited in the following settings:

• Archeology with paleontology (the development of the civilization from the most primitive organisms to primitive man)
• History (review of the Second World War, the most significant historical moments of our war)
• Ethnology (objects related to former customs)
• Leonard Nemeth’s legacy (baroque middle-class room)
• Natural science studio (rare stuffed animals of our region)
• Numismatics (from the oldest to modern coins and paper money)
• Legacy of ŽeljkoDrljača (drawings, paintings, and sculptures of our artist)
• Civic school classroom (replica of the 1903 school system)
• Memorial room for the dead and wounded fellow citizens during the nineties
• Eva Seč’s traditional cuisine(setting that follows Slovak customs)
• Souvenir shop (workshop area with equipment for weaving, sewing, and making unique items)
• Library (books from 1800 until today)
• Tactile exhibition for visually impaired and blind people
• Permanent gallery exhibition, icons, and oil on canvas; Gallery with temporary settings
• Foyer – theater costumes; ores and minerals display; ethnic and historical objects
• There is also an Atelier in the Museum building, where fine art and art workshops are held for all ages, and a drawing school
• The music hall with the piano serves as a concert hall, as well as for holding seminars, forums, workshops, presentations, and promotions
• The building’s courtyard is suitable for organizing various town events.

The Town Museum is an integral part of the Bačka Palanka Cultural Center. The building itself dates back to 1903, and after its reconstruction in 2020, the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Petrovaradin registered the building as a cultural asset.
