The Danube Germans’ Museum, officially the Danube Germans’ Church Museum, is housed within the “Heart of Jesus” Church and parish house. It owns one of the largest collections of church artefacts and sacral art in the region, as well as a unique collection of church textiles. Its library contains over 60,000 documents, some of them dating from the 16 th century. The Museum also keeps the complete archives of ten former German municipalities, as well as other valuable scientific, ethnological and historical materials. The Museum’s mission is to preserve and promote the heritage of Germans from this part of Europe, as well as to foster inter-ethnic awareness and inter-religious understanding. The Museum is managed by the Association “Adam Berenz” from Apatin.
